How I Holistically Purged Hundreds of Gallstones

When I learned my gallbladder was full of hardened bile from my liver, I chose to holistically remove them through colon hydrotherapy and liver detoxes. At the time, I was living overseas without health insurance but was in strong health surrounded with great support to remove them without medical attention. Gallstones are hard, stone like deposits of bile that are formed in the liver and build up in the gallbladder. Typically, gallstones are formed from when there is an imbalance in the bile either containing too much cholesterol or not enough bile salts to dissolve the cholesterol.
For a disclaimer, I am not a licensed medical professional, and this post does not offer medical advice for gallstone removal. This post is intended to share empathetic support and tips for improving one’s mental health through the gallbladder healing process. It is important to note that holistic healing – an approach to wellness that utilizes mindfulness and nutrition techniques to connect the mind, body, and spirit – is complimentary to medical intervention.
This is the 24-hr Epsom salt liver cleanse I followed to detox my liver and flush my gallbladder of any present stones.
This liver detox can present challenges, both physical and emotional. Energetically, the liver and gallbladder hold residual anger and detoxing these organs asks you to release anger with ease, offer reckless forgiveness and part ways with resentment.
While embarking on this liver detox, I prepared myself, physically and energetically, to ensure I successfully removed all gallstones and residual emotions from my body.
Below are 9 things (with tips) I did to support myself during the gallstone detox:
1. Show myself kindness.
This is a challenging, emotional journey – self-talk needs to be positive to ease the physical pain of this purge. The mind and body deserve self-compassion, which is what I offered myself.
2. Create a comfortable healing sanctuary of my personal space.
The detox feels simpler when your personal space prioritizes comfort, promotes relaxation and offers mental space. I deep cleaned my room, organized my wardrobe and kept my spaces clean. Having a safe place to grow through this experience helps the body accept, purge and heal.
3. Physically purge my life.
Conducting a “spring cleaning” of your environments helps release any outdated items that carry unwanted memories or emotions. I purged anything outdated that did not serve me any longer. Holding on to these items does not serve your overall wellbeing and can slow the detoxification process.
4. Document the experience for myself.
I purchased a new journal and put my feelings on paper – for my own healing. This helped emotionally transmute the physical changes happening for me. To compliment the physically purging, I emotionally purged as well. I wrote down any past traumas, regret, resentment, anger, guilt, shame, fears of the future, insecurities, self-doubt or scarcity mindsets. Once these emotions were accepted and ready to be released, I burned the paper, believing them to be burned from my life, body and mind.
5. Rely on my support system.
This is a personal journey, but I did not feel alone. I leaned on trusted companions who offered emotional support during this experience. I gracefully and clearly communicated my needs and allowed myself to receive.
6. Find a reason to laugh every day.
Laughter is medicine. Although this journey is challenging on the body, mind, and heart -- I found it easier to release the toxins from my body when it is softer. Laughing at the small things allows the mind compartmentalize any feelings and emotions the body are purging. This detox asks you to drink a cup of olive oil to release stones from your body… let’s laugh through this!
7. Practice visualization techniques.
I believed a healthier, softer version of myself is in the future. I dreamt of the life I aspired to lead and write it on paper. I kept my focus on the improved life coming ahead, not the past.
8. Rest.
Healing requires adequate rest – and I offered this to myself without guilt. This experience can bring exhaustion and fatigue as it disrupts your lifestyle routine. A few days before, during and after the cleanse, your body is doing more than you think. Be nice to your body, acknowledge when you need to rest, and allow yourself the grace you require, and deserve.
9. Share the experience when ready.
This was a significantly personal experience. It is acceptable to take space away from personal and professional commitments while you endure this life-changing journey. Be selfish with your needs and only share with others when feeling called. I protected myself as I healed.
------
Prior to starting this detox, I spoke with several medical professionals and worked with a spiritual therapist to gather as much information, research and advice as possible. This was a taxing detox that required preparation, a positive mindset, and patience – and took as much emotional and spiritual effort as it did physical work. Nevertheless, it was worth every effort.
